General Information about Exam Results
Exam results can only be picked up by the student at the school. Results can be picked up by an authorised parent or other relative if you have already informed me of this arrangement and they bring a letter signed by you asking for the results.
Any results which are not picked up will be posted at 12.00pm on the day of issue.
Results can be picked up from the school from 10.00am. Mr Manson will be available for queries from 10.00am to 12.30pm.
Results will NEVER be given over the phone. It is a criminal offence for us to do this.
Exam results are usually available from 10am on the morning of release. Inside your results pack you will receive a help guide that will help explain what the results actually mean.
Exam results check list
-
If you have any questions about your results please speak to Mr Manson as soon as possible.
- In your results pack you should find a school print out of your results plus a sheet from each of the exam boards that you have sat exams with.
- You will also find one of the Post Results Help sheets.
- If you wish to use one of the remark services or wish to get access to your script - please speak to Mr Manson as soon as possible.
- Certificates are generally only received into school in December. You will receive a letter when all the certificates are ready for collection inviting you to collect these from school. Any that remain uncollected after the Christmas holidays will be put into the post. From last year onwards we have sent these by Recorded Delivery to make sure that you get them. Please note that at present I am contacted by about 3/4 students each year who do not receive or loose their certificates. These are very expensive to replace and you need to deal directly with the exam board. Click here for a help sheet to explain how you can get your certificates reprinted.
- If you do move house in the year after you leave school - please let us know as any certificates will get posted to the final address that we have on record for you.
Post Results Services
After the exams there are a number of services that you can speak to me about
- If you want to resit an exam (Year 13 and Jan Year 14 only) please fill in the resit form from the list above and return the form and fee to Mr Manson as soon as possible.
- If you are not happy about your result there are generally 3 services that you can use to find out more information. The cost for these changes each exam session and is different depending on the exam board that you do. Please speak to me for more details.
Clerical check - basically just a recount of your scores on the paper (about £9 per paper/module)
Access to Scripts - you get to see your paper again. But be warned once you see it - there is NOTHING you can do to get marks changed. You do not get to take script out of school. It will be help in school by your teacher. (normally between £7 - £10)
Remark - your paper is marked by a different marker again. This can be worthwhile but you need to realise that your mark can go down as well as up. It is costly and rarely changes a mark. (Prices range from £21 to £41)
Appeal - this is very uncommon and can only be used when all other avenues have been exhausted. Please speak to mefor further details.
As with all things relating to exam results - it is really important that if you have any questions that you contact Mr Manson as soon as possible.
