Refectory
Awarded the top level in Ballymena Borough Council’s Environmental Health Department’s Food Hygiene Rating Scheme, our refectory adheres to our Healthy Eating Policy offering delicious, nutritious snacks and meals that are affordable.
Theme days are always popular and students have the option of choosing Mexican or Chinese food for example on designated days. For those with special dietary requirements, provision can be made and we also offer Halal Food. The bright airy space accommodates school lunch in two sittings, junior and senior. Students enjoy the welcoming atmosphere with two hot food counters and a salad and sandwich bar.
We have a cashless till system and students can opt for payment by finger print system or pin code. Parents can feel in control of their child’s spending as we offer payment via ’ParentPay,’ the market leader in online payment for schools. Online payments mean parents can pay for all refectory purchases quickly and easily, helping to keep children safe as they no longer need to carry money to school.
Students can put money onto their accounts using a revaluation machine in the school or online via www.parentpay.com. The machines accept 10p, 20p, 50p, £1, £2 coins and £5 and £10 notes. Only good quality Bank of England, Bank of Ireland, Ulster Bank and Danske Bank notes are recognised.
Students entitled to free school meals will have £2.80 credited to their account per day but they may add further value to their accounts if required.
