Key Stage 3

 

In Years 8 - 10, the following Programmes of Study are followed:

  • Athletics
  • Dance
  • Gymnastics
  • Cross Country
  • Games – Football, Rugby, Gaelic Football.

Years 11 - 12

  • Games – Badminton, Volleyball, Football, Rugby
  • Golf
  • Health Related PE – Circuit Training
  • Outside facilities are used (Fitness First and The Seven Towers Leisure Centre)

Paper 1 – 1 hr 15 mins – The Human Body and Movement in Physical Activity
78 marks – 30%

Paper 2 – 1 hr 15 mins – Socio-cultural influences and Well Being in Physical Activity and Sport
78 marks – 30%

Non-exam assessment – Practical performance in physical activity and sport
100 marks – 40%

OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Introductory Diploma in Sport

Unit 1 – Principles of anatomy and Physiology in Sport
Unit 2 – Sports Coaching
Unit 3 – Current Issues in Sport
